“Catch 22” $500 Cash Reward

In June of 1997, Yavapai Silent Witness adopted a new program and called it “Catch 22”. The purpose of “Catch 22” was to get more fugitives introduced to the public so our citizens could be on the lookout. That’s where the media gets involved. Local radio stations, newspapers and television each advertise the same felon each day for twenty-two consecutive days. Each of the twenty-two felons are worth a $500.00 cash reward if apprehended by a YSW caller. In order to receive the $500.00 reward the caller must call 1-800-932-3232 when reporting.

The new idea was such a success the Board of Directors decided to run two phases of “Catch 22” annually. The felons are provided by the Warrant Division of the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office and cleared for extradition by the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office. The first phase each year is usually in the spring and the second phase is always in December.

The felons offered in this program may be featured in phase after phase depending on the severity of their crime until they are apprehended. The community seems to enjoy this program due to the fact that they can hear about the felons on radio and see them in the newspaper and on television.

ARREST!!!!!! Day #20 of "Catch 22" phase 22 was arrested a short time after radio staions in Yavapai County aired the wanted information about him. Jose Acosta has been wanted for the past 3 years and was arrested today on child molestation charges. Dispatcherts at the Yavapai County Sherriff's Office in Prescott received two calls this morning before 09:30 about Acosta'a where-abouts and sent deputies to the area. Acosta was arrested a short time later in the Village of Oak Creek. The streets are a little safer tonight thanks to the callers and the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.

Day #1  Prescott cops say the Joseph Kevin Willaimson is wanted on several different warrants monstly stemming from drug violations. He is a 31-year-old white male who is 6/1 and weighs about 220 pounds and once lived at 306 N. Virginia St. in Prescott. He has done tile work and other odd jobs.

Day #2  Cops in Prescott say that Rebecca Ann Korhoren took a car and a large amount of cash that didn't belong to her. She is also a probation violator involving a DUI, driving on a suspended license and endangerment. Rebecca is a 55-year-old white feamle. She is 5/8 and weighs about 190 pounds. She has long brown hair that she wears in pigtails and has green eyes and wears glasses. Cops say that she might be living in Phoenix or Las Vegas.

Day #3  Yavapai County Deputies say that Lee Eric Hermanson is a sex offender who has absconded and failed to register as a sex offender. He is a 58-year-old white male who is 6ft tall and weighs about 190 pounds. He is bald on top and what hair he has is brown  and he has brown eyes. Cops say he wears glasses and has crooked teeth and a tattoo on the inside of his right forearm. He once lived in Clarkdale as well as Cottonwood.

Day #4 Cops in Cottonwood say that Karen Moore is wanted on drug charges. Moore is a 47-year-old white female who is 5/8 and weighs about 120 pounds. She has long brown hair and blue eyes. Cops say her last known address was in Cottonwood, but today she may be living in Kansas.

Day #5 Yavapai County Deputies say that Adam Willaim Stevenson is wanted on sex offence charges. He is a 32-year-old white male who is 5/6 and weighs about 150 pounds. He has brown hair but likes to shave his head and he has brown eyes. Stevenson has a pockmarked face and sometimes wears a mustache. His last known addresses were in Rimrock and Cottonwood.

Day # 6 Prescott Valley cops say that David Hugh Hamil is a sex offender. They say that he is a 45-year-old white male who is 5/10 and weighs about 190 pounds. Police say that he has brown hair and brown eyes and sometimes wears a mustache. Cops say he has a slender build and crooked teeth and once lived in Prescott Valley.

Day #7 Cops in Prescott say that Joel Medina-Ortiz murdered Danial Cook age 23 on October 28, 2006. Cops say that during a fight Cook was stabbed by Ortiz and left for dead in the parking lot of a Prescott motel on east Gurley St.  Cops say that Ortiz is a 30-year-old Mexican male who weighs about 180 pounds and once lived at 802 2nd Street in Prescott. Yavapai Silent Witness first advertised this crime with a $1,000.00 cash reward and later two of Cook's friends came up with another $2,000.00 bringing this reward to $3,000.00.

Day #8 Yavapai County Sheriff's Detectives say that Douglas Dishon is wanted for sexual abuse of a child and for child molesation. They say that he is a 57-year-old white male who is 5/10 and weighs about 200 pounds and has graying brown hair and brown eyes. He likes to wear a mustache and combs his hair back. His last known address was in Humboldt on Colins Lane and he once owned the Cherry Stage Stop Antiques which was at Hwy 69 and 169. Help police find this child molester before another child is victimized.

Day #9 Cops in Prescott Valley say that Hector Reyes tried to kill a man in that city with a machete back in August 2002. They say that Reyes stabbed the man in the back with the big knife. Reyes is a 31-year-old Mexican male who is only 5/6 and weighs 175. He once lived at 3233 N. Tani in Prescott Valley. Lets get him and his big knife off the streets.

Day #10 Yavapai County Deputies say that Claudio Duran lopez was part of a group who murdered 3 people near Wickenburg back in  Februay 2006. They say he is a 36-year-old Mexican male who is 5/10 and weighs about 175 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and once lived in Phoenix.

Day #11 Cops in Prescott say that Richard Simental vandalized a car that didn't belong to him to the tune of $2,000.00. He is a 20-year-old male who has a very dark complexion, he is 5/7 and weighs about 170 pounds. He has been living at 514 Dameron in Prescott and may have relatives living at that location. Several people have reported seeing him in the Prescott area and police feel that he is still in town.

Day #12 Yavpaai County deputies say that Miguel Angel Lonzo Franco was part of a group who murdered 3 people near Wickenburg back in February 2006. They say that he is a 43-year-old Mexican who is 5/6 and weighs about 179 pounds.

Day #13 Cops in Chino Valley say that Jose Rogelio Herrera-Martinez is a child molester, a child abuser and is also wanted on forgery charges. Cops say that he is a 35-year-old Mexican who is 5/7 and weighs about 175 pounds. He has long black hair that is usually in a pony-tail or braid. His last known address was in Prescott Valley on Morning Star Rd.

Day #14 Cops in Prescott say that Randolph Deleon is wanted for weapons violations and aggravated assault. Cops say that he is a 50-year-old white male who is 6 ft. and weighs about 200 pounds. Deleon has numerous tattoos, long hair and likes Harley Davidson motorcycles. Cops say that he once lived in Skull Valley.

Day #15 Yavapai County Deputies say that Peter Dane is wanted for failing to register as a sex offender, probation violation and for furnishing pornographic material to a minor. Cops say that Dane is a 56-year-old white male who is 5/9 and weighs about 170 pounds. He has light brown hair and is balding on the top. His last known address was in Camp Verde on Thomas Paine.

Day #16 The Sheriff's Office says that Tony Thomas is wanted on several drug-related charges. Cops say that he is a 36-year-old white male who is 6 ft and weighs about 180 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eye and numerous tattoos. His hair is over his ears and he wears glasses. His last known address was on North hwy 89 at the Lakeside RV Park north of Prescott.

Day #17 YCSO deputies say thar David DeHart is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender. Cops say that he is a 44-year-old white male who is 5/8 and weighs about 155 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and sometimes wears a mustache. His last known address was in Congress on Grandview Dr.

Day #18 YCSO deputies say that Mario Adrian Hernandez-Estrada is wanted for possession of dangerous drugs as well as other drug offences. Cops say that he is a 31-year-old Mexican whose last known address was in Paulden on Maple.

Day #19 YCSO deputies say that Christopher Scalf is wanted for Probation Violation involving an attempted sexual assault with a minor. They say that he is a 26-year-old wite male who is 5/9 and weighs about 180 pounds. He likes to wear his hair short and has a goat-T. His last known address was in Prescott Valley. He may be living in Mexico. 

Day #20 Deputies in Yavapai County say that Jose Manual Acosta is wanted for child molestation. They say he is a 51-year-old Mexican  who is 5/8 and weighs about 250 pounds give or take a pound. He has short black hair, a thin mustache and is very rotund. He once lived in Clarkdale and works as a laborer. He may be  employeed at a local golf course.  "ARRESTED"

Day #21 Cops in Prescott Valley say that Javier Martinez is wanted for making and passing counterfeit money. They say that he is a 26-year-old Mexican who last lived in Phoenix on W. Bell Road. He may be using the name Juan Garza.

Day #22 Cottonwood cops say that Domingo Valdez is wanted for a 1st degree murder that occurred on June 28, 2004 in Cottonwood. They say that he is a 44-year-old Mexican who is 5/10 and weighs about 190 pounds. he does handy-man work and landscaping for a living. Cops say that Valdez was last seen driving a 1994 black Ford Ranger and that he has ties in Califorina and Mexico.
